NEW JERSEY TRANSIT POLICE TO CONDUCT EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRILL AT BORDENTOWN STATION

River LINE Service Will Not Be Affected

BORDENTOWN, NJ – The New Jersey Transit Police Department’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM), together with State, county and local partners, will conduct a training exercise on Saturday, June 4 at Bordentown Station on the River LINE in Bordentown beginning at 8 a.m.

The drill, which will gauge responses to a simulated transportation incident, will take approximately three (3) hours to complete. There will be no impact to River LINE light rail service. Residents and customers are advised that they will see an increased presence of police and emergency personnel in the area of Bordentown Station. In addition to New Jersey Transit Police Department’s personnel, the following entities will also be participating in the exercise: Bordentown City Fire, Bordentown City Police, Bordentown City Office of Emergency Management, Bordentown Township Fire, Bordentown Township Police, Bordentown Township Office of Emergency Management, Bordentown EMS, Burlington County Office of Emergency Management and the NJ DOT.

The New Jersey Transit Police Department regularly conducts multiple drills and training sessions simulating various transportation scenarios throughout the statewide system.
