The NJTPD's Central Communications Center (CCC) provides 24 hour public safety services. The CCC handles all department communications, criminal justice inquiries and telephone calls from the general public. The CCC also coordinates with rail, bus and light rail operations internally.

Externally, the CCC coordinates efforts with regional transportation agencies as well as state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies. CCC personnel are trained and proficient in resource management and crisis mitigation as well as video surveillance
