Deputy Chief
Deputy Chief Andrew Crowe directs and controls New Jersey Transit Police Operations.
Deputy Chief Crowe joined NJ TRANSIT Police in 2000 after serving four years with the Sea Girt Police Department holding positions in Dispatch and Patrol. Deputy Chief Crowe started his career with NJ TRANSIT Police assigned to the Patrol Division working in Transit Districts 2, 3 and 4 in Newark, Hoboken and Secaucus and has risen through the ranks quickly within the department. In 2003, he was promoted to Patrol Sergeant and worked in Transit District 7 located in Atlantic City and then Transit District 2 in Newark. Deputy Chief Crowe advanced to Lieutenant in 2008 and was appointed to the Executive Officer position in Transit Districts 3 and 4 in Hoboken and Secaucus. Deputy Chief Crowe served as the Commanding Officer of Transit Districts 3 and 4. Prior to serving as the Commanding Officer of Transit Districts 3 and 4, he oversaw the NJ TRANSIT Police Department's Central Communications Center, Training Unit, Records Unit, and Information & Technology Unit. He also was previously the commanding officer of districts 5, 6 and 7. In 2021, he was promoted to Deputy Chief and was assigned as Officer-In-Charge of Police Operations.
Deputy Chief Crowe is the recipient of the Lifesaving Award, five Distinguished Service Awards and four Unit Citation Awards. He holds an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. Deputy Chief Crowe graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy's 70th Class and the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police's Command and Leadership program.
