Deputy Chief of Administration
Deputy Chief Capriglione is responsible for all administrative matters.
Deputy Chief Capriglione began his career with NJ TRANSIT Police in January 2000, serving in the Patrol Division across Transit Districts 2, 3, and 4. His career progression includes promotions to Patrol Sergeant in 2003 (Transit District 2), Lieutenant in 2011, and Captain in 2014. As Captain, he served as the Executive Officer in Administration and then proceeded to serve as the Commander of Transit Districts 5, 6, and 7 (Trenton, Camden, and Atlantic City). In 2021, he was promoted to Police Inspector and commanded Transit District 2, where he directed all daily police operations at Newark Penn Station and oversaw the NJTPD Social Service Outreach Unit. He was appointed Deputy Chief in 2024, and currently commands the Administration Bureau.
Deputy Chief Capriglione is a graduate of the Somerset County Police Academy and the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police's Command and Leadership program. He earned both a bachelor's and a master’s degree in administrative science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is currently in pursuit of a doctorate degree.
His service has been recognized with numerous awards, including an exceptional duty medal, two excellent police service awards, three honor awards, two distinguished service awards, two meritorious duty awards, a life-saving award, and two unit commendations.
