Edward Iandoli -
Deputy Chief

Deputy Chief Iandoli began his career with NJ TRANSIT Police as a Patrol Officer at the Broad Street Station in Newark in 1996. He has risen through the ranks at NJ TRANSIT Police Department being promoted to Sergeant in 2001, Lieutenant in 2006, Captain in 2008, Inspector in 2017 and Deputy Chief of Police in 2017. During his tenure, Deputy Chief Iandoli held various supervisory positions and command including Patrol, Train Patrol, Mobile Enforcement Unit (MEU), communications, Detective Bureau Sergeant and Officer – In – Charge of Investigations. Additionally, he served on the Newark Fugitive Task Force and Incident Commander of the 2015 Papal Visit in Philadelphia for NJ TRANSIT.

Prior to serving as the Deputy Chief of Administration and Operations, Deputy Chief Iandoli served as the Commanding officer of Transit District 2, as well as previously the Commanding Officer of Transit Districts 5, 6 and 7 and Investigations.

Deputy Chief Iandoli is the recipient of the NJ TRANSIT Police Department Excellent Police Service Award and six Unit Citation Awards. He currently serves as Vice President of the NJ Internal Affairs Association.

Deputy Chief Iandoli holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Human Resource Training and Development from Seton Hall. He graduated from the John H. Stamler Police Academy in Union County and the NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police's West Point Command & Leadership program.
